Osteopathic manipulative treatment, or OMT, is an advanced form of hands-on care.  It involves using the hands to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness and injury.  OMT can be used to ease pain, promote healing and increase mobility in patients of all ages and backgrounds.  While it is most often used in musculoskeletal disorders, OMT can also help patients with other health problems including asthma, sinus disorders, carpal tunnel syndrome, migraines, and menstrual pain.  Physicians trained in OMT are called osteopathic physicians, or DOs.
